HydraFacial is a non-invasive cosmetic facial. A handheld device cleanses and exfoliates the skin, clears pores with gentle suction and applies hydrating serums, all in one session. It is also called hydradermabrasion.
It is aimed at skin that looks dull, congested or dry. It does not treat acne scars, melasma or skin diseases on its own, and research on it is limited. Medical News Today notes that the studies so far are small, and that the changes seen in one small study had faded by the two-week follow-up.
At The Skin Firm your skin is checked before each session, and the settings and serums are chosen for what your skin needs that day. If your concern is acne, pigmentation or scarring, we tell you when a medical option such as a chemical peel or a medi-facial fits better.
Dull, tired-looking skin
Blackheads and clogged pores
Oily or congested skin
Dryness and dehydration
Uneven texture
Fine lines on the surface of the skin
Acne-prone skin, as part of a plan rather than on its own
A HydraFacial here starts with a short skin check: your skin type, the products you use, recent treatments, medicines such as isotretinoin, and any sunburn, irritation or infection. Dr. Karishma Singh, Founder and Skin & Aesthetic Specialist (BHMS, FCHD), plans the protocol. Dr. Monica C., Consultant Dermatologist (MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy; NMC-registered), is available for medical skin concerns and prescriptions.
The session has three stages: a gentle exfoliating peel, vortex suction to clear the pores, and hydrating serums with antioxidants and peptides. Most sessions take 40 to 50 minutes. Some people have mild redness afterwards, which usually settles within a few hours.
Consultation & Skin Check
We look at your skin's oil balance, hydration and sensitivity, and ask about products, medicines and recent treatments. If HydraFacial is not the right choice, we say so.
Choosing the Serums
The protocol is matched to your skin, with brightening, hydrating or oil-control serums as needed.
The Treatment
Cleansing and exfoliation, a gentle peel, vortex extraction of the pores, then hydration with antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid, finished with sun protection.
Aftercare & Review
You get written aftercare advice. We explain how often a repeat makes sense for your skin and review how your skin responded.
Signature HydraFacial
A cleanse, exfoliation, extraction and hydration session for skin that looks dull, dry or congested.
HydraFacial Brightening
Uses brightening serums to support a fresher, more even-looking tone. It does not treat melasma or deeper pigmentation; see our pigmentation treatment page for that.
HydraFacial Anti-Ageing
Uses peptides and antioxidants to hydrate and soften the look of fine lines on the surface. For wrinkles, see our anti-ageing treatments.
HydraFacial for Acne-Prone Skin
Focuses on oil control and clearing congested pores. It supports, and does not replace, acne treatment when you have active acne.
HydraFacial with LED Light
Adds LED light and lymphatic drainage steps to a HydraFacial session. We explain at the consultation what the add-on involves.
Clears pores. Suction lifts out blackheads and build-up without the pressure of manual extraction.
Hydrates. Skin often feels smoother and looks fresher for a short time afterwards.
Gentle exfoliation. The settings are adjusted to your skin on the day.
Little recovery time. Many people return to normal activities the same day.
Fits into a plan. It can sit alongside medical treatments when your doctor plans it.
Honest advice. We tell you what a facial can and cannot do for your concern.
Downtime is minimal, and many people resume normal activities the same day.
Mild redness or stinging can occur and usually settles within a few hours.
Ask us when it is fine to apply makeup. This is usually later the same day.
Sun protection is needed, because freshly exfoliated skin burns more easily.
Use gentle skincare for 24 hours.
Avoid heavy workouts, saunas and steam for 24 hours.
Apply sunscreen daily, and reapply when outdoors.
Skip retinoids and strong acids for the days we advise, and don't pick at the skin.
How often to repeat depends on your skin and goal. Many people choose every 4 to 6 weeks, and we advise you at the consultation.
Call the clinic on +91 8308669966 if you have blisters, severe stinging, swelling or spreading redness.
The cost of a HydraFacial in Pune depends on the type of protocol, the serums and add-ons used, such as LED light, and whether you book a single session or a plan.
We don't work from a fixed package. After a quick skin check you get the recommended protocol with a written fee, and you can decide at your own pace. Ask what is included before you begin.
To compare options, see our chemical peel and medi-facial pages.
Safety, Side Effects and Who Should Wait
Side effects of a HydraFacial can include redness, stinging, itching and dryness. Medical News Today notes that reactions to the products can appear straight away or later, and that blisters are possible. Tell us about allergies, and we can patch test the products first.
We may delay treatment if you have sunburn, an active infection such as a cold sore, open wounds or irritated skin. Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take isotretinoin or other prescription skin medicines, so the doctor can advise.
Research on HydraFacial is limited, so results cannot be promised and vary from person to person.
