Anti-ageing treatment is a group of skin and medical-aesthetic procedures that aim to soften the visible signs of ageing: fine lines, loss of firmness, uneven tone, rough texture and lost volume. No treatment stops ageing. Anti-ageing treatment in Pune at The Skin Firm starts with a skin assessment at our clinic in Mohammed Wadi, NIBM, because what causes a line (muscle movement, sun damage, volume loss or dryness) decides what helps.
That is why a good plan is rarely one procedure. A peel does little for a deep frown line, and a filler does nothing for sun-damaged texture. We match the treatment to the cause, and tell you when a simple routine with daily sunscreen is enough.
Ageing isn't only about wrinkles. Underneath, collagen production slows from early adulthood, elastin loses its spring, cell turnover slows so dull cells stay on the surface longer, and fat pads in the face thin and shift, so some areas lose volume while others sag.
Sun exposure is the biggest outside factor, and strong sunlight through most of the year in Pune adds to it. Smoking, poor sleep, stress and pollution make it faster.
Knowing which of these is behind your concern is what separates a treatment that helps from one that only costs money.
Sun Exposure
UV radiation breaks down collagen and causes pigmentation. It is the biggest outside driver of visible premature ageing.
Dehydration
Skin that doesn't get enough water, from inside or outside, loses plumpness and shows fine lines sooner.
Poor Sleep
Skin repairs itself during sleep. Consistently poor sleep interrupts this and shows on the face over time.
Smoking
Nicotine restricts blood flow to the skin, so it gets less oxygen and fewer nutrients. Smokers typically show visible ageing earlier.
Unmanaged Stress
Raised cortisol levels are linked to collagen breakdown and inflammation, both of which speed up skin ageing.
Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, forehead and mouth
Sagging skin and loss of elasticity
Dull, dehydrated and tired-looking skin
Uneven skin tone and pigmentation
Volume loss in the cheeks and under the eyes
Enlarged pores and rough texture
Early signs of ageing
Your plan starts with a consultation. We look at your skin, ask what bothers you and how long it has, check your medical history, medicines and how your skin has reacted before, and explain what each option can and can't do before you agree to anything.
Dr. Karishma Singh, Founder and Skin & Aesthetic Specialist (BHMS, FCHD), leads aesthetic treatment planning at the clinic. Dr. Monica C., Consultant Dermatologist (MD Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy; NMC-registered), assesses medical concerns and prescribes where a prescription treatment, such as an injectable, is needed.
Injectables are medical procedures. The American Academy of Dermatology advises that botulinum toxin and dermal fillers be given by a trained doctor in a medical setting, and warns about treatment at non-medical spas, salons or parties. Ask any clinic who will inject, what their qualification is and which product will be used.
Consultation & Skin Analysis
We assess your skin's ageing pattern, what's behind each concern, your medical history and your goals. Where a treatment isn't suitable for you, we say so.
Personalised Anti-Ageing Plan
A plan may combine collagen-stimulating treatments, resurfacing, skin tightening and, where a doctor advises it, injectables, in an order that suits your skin. You get the risks and a written fee before you agree.
The Procedure
Treatment is done in the clinic with numbing or cooling where needed. Time and comfort depend on the procedure, and we explain both beforehand.
Aftercare & Review
You get written aftercare and sun-protection advice and a review visit. Most treatments are repeated as a course or for maintenance, and we adjust the plan to how your skin responds.
Chemical Peels
Superficial peels shed the top layer of skin to refresh tone, texture and fine lines over a course of sessions. Strength is chosen for your skin type. See our chemical peel page.
Laser Resurfacing
Fractional laser treats the skin in tiny columns, which encourages renewal and collagen production. It is done as a course, and downtime depends on the settings. Deeper skin tones need gentler settings to limit dark marks.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy
Platelets separated from a small sample of your own blood are injected, or applied during microneedling, to support skin repair. Change is gradual and varies from person to person. See our PRP facial page.
Mesotherapy
Micro-injections of vitamins, hyaluronic acid and hydrating ingredients go into the skin to improve hydration and glow. Effects are temporary, so it is repeated as a course. See our mesotherapy page.
Skin Boosters
Injectable hyaluronic acid is placed in the skin to improve hydration and softness, rather than to add volume. See our skin boosters page.
Botulinum Toxin (Botox)
Small doses injected into specific facial muscles temporarily relax them, which softens frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet. It takes a few days to show and typically lasts about 3 to 4 months, so it is repeated. It is a prescription medicine. See our wrinkle treatment page.
Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic acid fillers replace lost volume or define areas such as the cheeks, under-eyes, lips and jawline. Results show straight away and last about 4 to 12 months, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved if needed.
Skin Tightening
Radiofrequency or ultrasound devices heat the deeper layers of skin to tighten existing collagen and encourage new collagen. It suits early to moderate laxity along the jaw, neck and cheeks, and change is gradual. See our HIFU page.
Combination Plans
Most ageing concerns need more than one approach. We combine treatments in a sensible order and only add what your skin needs, so the result looks like you, rested.
The cause of a line decides the treatment, so here is how we usually think about it.
Lines when you frown, squint or raise your brows. These come from muscle movement, so muscle-relaxing injections (botulinum toxin) are the usual option. Peels and lasers do little for them.
Fine lines at rest, rough texture and dullness. These are surface and repair problems, so peels, PRP, mesotherapy, skin boosters or laser fit better.
Hollow cheeks, under-eyes or a softer jawline. These are volume problems. Fillers replace volume, and a filler placed well can lift the area around it.
Early sagging along the jaw and neck. Skin-tightening devices can help with mild to moderate laxity, with change that builds gradually. Significant sagging is beyond what a device can correct.
Dark spots and uneven tone. This is a pigmentation question first; see our pigmentation treatment page.
Many people need two of these, not all of them. We start with the one that deals with the cause and add another only if your skin needs it.
Anti-ageing treatment cost in Pune isn't one price, because the concern decides the treatment and the treatment decides the fee. We confirm your fee in writing after the consultation, before anything is done.
What changes the cost: the treatment or treatments chosen; the area treated; the number of sessions or the maintenance schedule; and, for injectables, the product and the amount used. Botulinum toxin is usually charged per unit or per area, and fillers per syringe, so two quotes only compare if they state the product and the quantity.
Ask any clinic for a written estimate that lists each treatment, the product name, the quantity and the number of sessions.
Starts with an assessment of why your skin is ageing the way it is
Matches the treatment to the cause: movement lines, sun damage, lost volume or laxity
Aims for a natural, rested look rather than a changed one
Explains what each treatment can't do, as well as what it can
Gives written aftercare and sun-protection advice
Reviews your skin at follow-up visits and adjusts the plan
Minimal to Moderate Downtime - Depends on the procedure and your skin. We tell you what to expect before you start.
Redness, Swelling and Bruising - Common after injectables, peels and laser. It usually settles in days; the American Academy of Dermatology says filler swelling and bruising usually clear within 7 to 14 days.
Peeling or Flaking - Possible after peels and some lasers.
Makeup and Sun Protection - Timing depends on the treatment, and we advise you at your visit.
Gradual Results - Some treatments show within days and others build over weeks to months. Most need repeat sessions or maintenance.
Apply sunscreen every morning and avoid direct sun and tanning beds
Avoid strenuous exercise, steam and saunas for the period we advise
Don't press, rub or massage treated areas unless we tell you to
Use the skincare we prescribe, and pause retinol and strong actives for the days we advise after peels or lasers
Come to your review visit so we can check healing and adjust the plan
Call the clinic for severe pain, unusual swelling or skin that turns pale or dusky, and seek emergency care for vision changes or trouble breathing or swallowing
There is no fixed age. Prevention is easier than correction, and it starts with daily sunscreen and a simple routine, not with procedures. See the American Academy of Dermatology's anti-ageing skin care advice.
If you are in your late twenties or thirties and notice early changes, such as a loss of glow, first fine lines or slight loosening along the jaw, an assessment can tell you whether you need a treatment yet or only a better routine.
If you are in your forties or beyond and feel you have missed the window, you haven't. The approach shifts, with more attention to volume and firmness, and the plan is built around your skin as it is now.
Every anti-ageing procedure has risks. Common effects are redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising. Less common effects are lumps or asymmetry, a temporarily drooping brow or eyelid after botulinum toxin, allergic reactions, infection and pigment change. Rarely, a filler can block a blood vessel, which is why anyone injecting should know facial anatomy and have a plan for complications.
The American Academy of Dermatology describes filler and botulinum toxin injections as medical procedures and warns that products bought online, or treatment at non-medical spas, salons or parties, can cause serious harm. Ask who will inject, what their qualification is, the product name and batch, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition, an allergy to a product, an active skin infection or cold sore, take blood thinners, or tend to form keloid scars. Injectables and some devices are postponed in these situations. Deeper skin tones are more prone to dark marks after peels, lasers and energy devices, so we choose settings gently.
